Character Dance Classes for Beginners (ages 6-10)

Wednesdays 3:15 to 5:15 PM
Fridays 4:00 to 6:00 PM

Introduction to character dance. Dancers learn body placement, intricate rhythms, and folk dance steps. At the end of this 10 week session a dance will be choreographed and staged by the class.
Instructor: Olga Prokoshina. Tuition: 1 weekly class, $79.00 for 10 weeks. Special discounted price for children of the members of the Russian Center: $70.00 for 10 weeks.

Intermediate & Advanced Dance Classes

Tuesdays 7:30 to 9:00 PM – $50.00 for 5 weeks

Teenagers’ Dance Classes

Fridays 2:00 to 5:30 PM

Olga Prokoshina (Dance Instructor) is a graduate of the Byelarussian Academy. Local teaching experience includes: Contra Costa Ballet Center, Sha-Yee Poon Ballet School, and California Performing Arts Academy & Schumacher’s School of Dance.

Our mission is preservation and appreciation of folk dance traditions. The classes are fun and by the end of 10 weeks one dance is choreographed and the children have a chance to perform on stage at the Russian Center events. Next major performances are scheduled for the Youth Dance Festival in December and the Annual Russian Festival in January-February. For information and to register please call (415) 931-4225.
